FISHING lines dangling over Shaldon Bridge are proving a hazard for boaters passing underneath.
Sue Cox, of SeaSports Southwest, was injured by a hook, and in the latest incident, a rowing boat was caught up in a line last week. Two girls have also been injured.
Now a call has gone out for angling on the bridge to be curtailed or banned completely.
Ms Cox now has a scar on her hand, and recently two youngsters on a boat were also ensnared.
She said:?'Our professional skippers are fully trained and experienced enough to react quickly and try and avoid danger, but this is a channel that all craft use, including families.
'Unless these people are stopped from fishing off the bridge, somebody could get seriously hurt.'
