THERE is a new face at the head of one of Teignbridge’s policing teams.

Sergeant Ryan Cook is the new Neighbourhood Team Leader (NTL) for the Ashburton and Chudleigh area, following Sergeant Seth Saunders retirement after 22 year’s service.

Sergeant Cook said: ‘I originally joined the Special Constabulary of Devon & Cornwall Police in April 2010, based at Camborne, Penzance and latterly as a Special Sergeant within Newton Abbot.

‘I went on to join the Force Control Room, deploying officers to emergencies and taking 999 calls.

‘In 2019, I moved to Hertfordshire Police, stationed in Hertford, Bishops Stortford and Buntingford, all of which are in a rural setting of Hertfordshire.

‘I transferred back to Devon & Cornwall Police in 2022 as a Police Constable and was promoted to Temporary Police Sergeant in a Neighbourhood Sergeant Role, before spending the last two and a half years as a Response Sergeant in Torbay.

‘I am delighted to be the Neighbourhood Team leader covering the towns and parishes from Ashburton, Chudleigh, Teign Valley and Exminster after moving back to the area’.
