Operators in the district hoping to establish lap dancing clubs, regular strip shows and other forms of adult entertainment could soon be facing tough new rules.

Next week Teignbridge Council's executive will be asked to adopt a Sex Establishment Licensing Policy.

The document makes it clear that owners would be expected to have consulted with neighbours and other people who might be affected by their plans before applying for the £700 licence.

They would also have to notify the police and give objectors 28 days to lodge their concerns.
