A DESPERATELY needed £4 million new primary school for Kingsteignton could be open as soon as 2016 if plans to develop a site at Newcross make swift progress.

Proposals to develop the nine hectare site and build 150 new homes as well as the single-form entry 210-place school have taken a step forward.

Landowner Sibelco has submitted a planning application for outline approval of 150 homes on the site at Newcross along with the provision of land for the new school, shared sport and recreational facilities and public open space.
