NEWTON Abbot Art Group had a treat at their last meeting when Tiverton-based artist Greg Wellman demonstrated his skill with acrylic paint, bringing a wild buffalo all the way from Kenya’s Maasai Mara game reserve to the Burdett building in Newton Abbot with just a few brush strokes.

‘Watching a painting come to life is always magical, and this was no exception’ said Virginia Griem.

‘Greg gave us a very entertaining demo full of anecdotes and tips, as well as a masterclass in wildlife painting. We are now looking forward to our next demo and all-day workshop.

‘The next demo will be on Saturday, March 11, with Teignmouth artist John Skinner, whose meticulously painted watercolours have a worldwide following.’
