A HIT and run driver is being sought after a house was slightly damaged in Newton Abbot this morning.

The clumsy driver knocked a wheeled bin and left minor damage to the property in Union Street.

Police say the incident happened just after 6.30am.

They were alerted by a local resident who heard a loud bang outside their home.

The type of vehicle involved was not known.
