RESIDENTS in Aller, Newton Abbot, are in for more traffic nightmares as further work goes on connected to the South Devon highway, meaning the closure of the old main road.

County councillors are angry, claiming residents have been kept ‘in the dark’ about the closure which is expected to last for up to five weeks.

Businesses have been informed by Devon County Council that Newton Road will be closed at Zig Zag quarry and all traffic, including buses, will be diverted along the new Aller link road and Aller Brake Road.

However, councillors say residents living in Aller had not been informed of the extra traffic expected along the diversion route.
