Newton Abbot’s first late night shopping event was a huge success again this year, declares town centre development manager Sally Henley.

’The town was buzzing with shoppers and families out to enjoy the festive atmosphere and the weather was unusually balmy, which was a pleasant treat for everyone too!

’As well as the super charity stalls and entertainment in the square, there was plenty of activity and music in Courtenay Street and the Market Hall.

’The East Street Pub Company put up a very festive stage area in lower East Street which was a great new addition to the late night shopping line up, with more to come for the next two late nights!

’Father Christmas has a great many young visitors to the Clock Tower grotto and the stalls in Courtenay Street were doing a brisk trade too.

’All happening under the lovely backdrop of our new Christmas lights. Thank you to Newton Abbot Town council and to everyone who put in such hard work to make the entire evening a very great success!’ she said.
