NEWTON Abbot-based charity ELM Wildlife Hedgehog Rescue and Rehabilitation is appealing to the public for help with running their rescue centre.

ELM Wildlife is the largest hedgehog rescue centre in Devon with its new premises at Seale Hayne, Newton Abbot.

The charity is looking for people to start immediately, working directly with the hedgehogs.

A spokesperson for ELM Wildlife stated: ‘We are looking for new enthusiastic volunteers to join our amazing team for an immediate start.

‘Ideally, you would be able to commit to a few shifts each month, each shift is 10am - 1.30pm at Seale Hayne, Newton Abbot.

‘Working directly with the hedgehogs, you will be cleaning out their cages, handling and weighing them to monitor progress, carrying out a visual health check and providing food and water.’
