THOSE who have missed out on bagging tickets to BBC Radio 1’s Big Weekend are in luck as Teignbridge has another music spectacle taking place.

Newton Abbot’s popular Golden Lion pub in Market Street is holding a three-day charity gig starting today.

All of the money that is raised will be going to Rowcroft Hospice and all the acts and sound crews are playing free of charge to help raise as much money as possible.

Kicking things off this evening from 7pm - 7.45pm is Jaks Caravan, followed by Out of the Box & Friends from 8.15pm - 9pm, Secrets and Lies from 9.30pm - 10.15pm with Stop Stop bringing the first evening to a close from 10.45pm - 11.45pm.

Opening the mini festival tomorrow from 1.30pm will be The Ruse, with No Boundaries taking over from 2.30pm - 3pm.

New Project will be gracing the stage from 3.15pm - 4pm followed by Go Tell Alice from 4.30pm - 5.15pm, Simple Shins from 5.45pm - 6.30pm, Paul Hewitt from 7pm - 7.45pm, Ravenhold from 8.15pm - 9pm. The penultimate act is Naked Farm from 9.30pm - 10.15pm before Last Resort draws the event’s biggest day to an end.

The final day will see Jus’ Dan take to the stage at 1.15pm before Dink plays from 2.15pm - 1.45pm followed by Odd Sox from 3.30pm - 4.15pm, Draw from 5.30pm - 6pm with Citizen Smith closing the event from 6pm - 7pm.

There is no entry fee to the festival, but you can donate to the charity by purchasing draw tickets, food from the barbecue, buying merchandise or simply putting money into the buckets.
