ONE Chagford resident is in for spooky night this summer as she prepares to take on DarkMoor, all in the name of charity.
Connie Thomas, pictured right, is embarking on a 10-mile walk over Dartmoor’s iconic land of myth and legend after dark all in a bid to raise cash for Marie Curie.
The event, which takes place on August 20 at 10pm, is hoping to raise more than £30,000 for the charity.
Twenty-six-year-old Connie said: ‘This is a really exciting event to get involved in as we will be trekking through this beautiful national park after dark, knowing we are making a difference to the lives of people living with terminal illness.’
Dartmoor-based brewery Black Tor will be on hand as the participants cross the finishing line with a free bottle of their finest ale.
‘Knowing there is a bottle of Black Tors beer waiting for me at the finish will certainly keep me ticking off those final few miles as the sun starts to rise,’ she added.
The walk is supported by the mountain guides at Spirit of Adventure who will keep everyone on course throughout the night.
