The semi-final saw the first meeting of the season between Ashmoor and Tiverton.

It was a nip and tuck game, with both sides having half chances, but much of the play was breaking down in midfield.

A 50-50 challenge resulted in Helen Willis twisting her ankle and knee as she landed, and with Ashmoor temporarily down to ten players, Tiverton took advantage, scoring the opening goal.

With Willis unable to continue, substitute Hayley Lawrence came on in her place.

The second half saw plenty of play in midfield, with the occasional break and scoring opportunity soon cancelled out by solid defences.

Despite Ashmoor having a couple of half chances to draw level, it was Tiverton who secured their place in the final when a quick break out of defence ended with the ball being fired past keeper Alice Payne to make the final score 2-0.MORE SPORT IN OUR ONLINE EDITION
