NEWTON Abbot’s police officers have been out and about during the Neighbourhood policing week of action.

On their Facebook page Newton Abbot Police say: ‘All of this week we will be posting updates highlighting the work our officer and volunteers do to make South Devon one of the safest places to live, work and visit in the UK.’

► Last Tuesday PC Haggerty and PCSO Pratt were out and about in Kingsteignton during Neighbourhood Policing Week.

They said: ‘We cover the Kingsteignton area, if you see us around please say hello.

‘We will both be attending community groups and council meetings as much as we can along with tackling community problems.’

► PC Carpenter and PC Deakin cover the rural areas of Newton Abbot which include Kingskerswell, Buckland, Ogwell, Ipplepen, Denbury and Abbotskerswell.

They got out in the community during Neighbourhood Policing Week.

One satisfied local posted on the police Facebook page: ‘I had had the pleasure of both PC Carpenter and PC Deakin. They dealt with my issues with excellence xx Two amazing guys to have on our neighbourhood team... Thank you xxx.’

► Police officers were touched by a gift they received from the Tiny Tose Pre-school after their visit to the children.

‘This morning we attended Tiny Toes Pre-School to have a talk with the children.

‘They learnt about our role in the community and had a good look around a police van.

‘They even drew us pictures after we left.’

► The front office of Newton Abbot Police Station has increased its opening hours. From last Monday, the front office will be open from 10am to 3pm from Monday to Saturday, and closed on a Sunday.
