In last Friday's paper we carried a preview in which Denbury Athletic manager Darren Nethercott said he was hoping his team could take advantage of Wattsies' end-of-season fixture pile-up.

At the time, he commented: 'Our lads are really fit and that could be where we've got the edge.

'We've done our homework on Wattsies and they look knackered – they've played a lot of games recently.'

But WBB, who had already secured the Premier Division title in their first campaign back in the top-flight, shrugged off any claims of tiredness to thrash Division Four side Denbury 7-0 later that day and clinch a WBW Solicitors South Devon League double, in front of more than 500 spectators at Coach Road, Newton Abbot.
