HAVING pledged its support to Keep Britain Tidy's 'Great British Spring Clean', a Teignbridge parish council took to the streets this past weekend for its litter picking event.

Despite less than ideal weather, Hennock Parish Council hosted a litter pick in and around Chudleigh Knighton on Saturday, March 10.

Setting off from the Garden Room at Chudleigh Knighton Village Hall, Hennock Parish Council clerk, Elly Maynard, councillors and residents wondered through the village in search of litter.

Come the end of the day, the group had filled more than ten bags with rubbish.

'Is it a good thing we have collected so much or bad because there was so much rubbish to collect?' Elly said.

'Thank you to the councillors and residents who braved the weather, Chudleigh Knighton Village Hall for use of their garden room and Teignbridge District Council, who are collecting the litter for us on Monday' she added.
