Pedestrianisation will curtail disabled access
PATTIE SMITH, of Knowles Hill Road, Newton Abbot, writes:
Re the pedestrianisation of Queen Street, has any thought been given to partially disabled people (who do not own mobility scooters) as to how far they will have to struggle in pain to get access to Queen Street to visit shops. banks, building societies etc from Cricketfield Road car park?
Surely it would be in everyone’s interest to install barriers (for one month) at Queen Street.
Some time ago, Queen Street was closed after an accident, and traffic was diverted cia Albany Street. It was absolute chaos.
Traffic was queueing in Albany Street at the traffic lights at Kingsteington Road and cars were trying to exit Cricketfield Road car park.
