Teignmouth's run of good form continued with this victory over third placed Bovey Tracey.
The result keeps Teigns in seventh place, six points behind leaders Galmpton, but sees Bovey drop to fourth.
Bovey started the game in determined fashion and had Teigns under pressure from kick-off.
They took the lead in the fourth minute. Terry Breslan was ajudged to have fouled Bovey forward Mark Sneap in the box and Simon Revell confidently converted the spot kick, sending keeper Liam Jones the wrong way.
Bovey then turned the screw, with Revell finding space in the midfield to set up Bovey's attacks.
Teigns defended deep and were fortunate not to fall further behind, Jones saving well from Sneap, and Ashley Webber heading a goal-bound effort off the line.
Gradually the hosts played their way back into the game. Webber swung in a teasing cross from the left, but nobody could supply the final touch, and Ian Wilkinson had a strike charged down.
Andy Breslan and Geoff Breslan upped the work rate in the middle of the park and G Breslan equalised in the 38th minute when he challenged Bovey keeper Tom Buckler, who dropped the ball at his feet which he drilled home.
Two minutes later Teigns' centre half Alex Blackburn saw red when he punched Bovey's Mark Dyson after an off the ball incident.
Teigns were forced to change formation and reverted to a flat back four, pulling wing back Webber and Terry Breslan back to full backs, with Jaime Dodge and Matt Boyer linking up as the two cental defenders.
Wilkinson and Adam Hill took the wide midfield positions leaving Rob Perry as the lone striker.
It looked as if Bovey were going to make Teigns pay for being a man down when the took the lead eight minutes into the second half, Jamie Dyson volleying home from the edge of the box.
However, Teigns were level straight from the restart. Perry rolling the ball forward from the centre spot for Geoff Breslan to chip Buckler from the half-way line to level the score at 2-2.
The quick response lifted Teignmouth and they took the game to their opponents.
Perry chased down a long clearance and swung over a cross met by Hill whose shot cannoned back off the bar.
The hosts' ten men worked hard to match Bovey, who were finding Boyer and Dodge resolute in defence. Jones again denied Sneap with an smart save, diving to his left and pushing a rasping shot round the post.
With 15 minutes remaining, Jones' long goal-kick into Bovey's half was only partially cleared. The centre-half met the ball with his head but it looped up behind him and Perry let the ball drop over his shoulder and instinctively hit a 20-yard left-foot volley from the corner of the penalty area that flew into the back of the net to give Teigns the lead.
Lee Haywood came off the bench to take over the midfield holding role from Andy Breslan as Bovey attacked in numbers.
Webber came to Teigns rescue again clearing a shot off the line, while Perry and Hill worked tirelessly chasing down long clearances and harassing Bovey's defence.
The visitors pressed but the home side defended well to secure the points.
Tomorrow, Okehampton are the visitors to Coombe Valley, kick-off 2-15pm.
