MULTI-INSTRUMENTALIST Phil Beer is performing an acoustic fundraising gig at Ashburton’s St Lawrence Chapel on Saturday, January 30.

All profits are going to Macmillan Cancer Support through the Ashburton and Buckfastleigh Macmillan Group, which is putting on the event.

A spokesman for the group said: ‘Phil Beer is well known in the acoustic music world as one half of Show of Hands with fellow musician Steve Knightly and we are very lucky to have him come to our beautiful 700-year-old venue here in Ashburton.

‘Phil, who is from Exmouth, is a well-known local musician and I’m really hoping we will have a full house, which would be a great start to our new fundraising year.’
