THE picture I have chosen to close 2017 was sent to me by Advertiser reader Graham Lucas, writes Steve Harris.

It features a school pantomime put on by the pupils of Highweek Secondary Modern School for Boys in the 1950s. I am not sure what the theme was but there is a horse or dragon to the left of the photograph which may jog someone’s memory. Pantomimes and plays were all part and parcel of education with some children loving them and others somewhat less enamoured with dressing up and learning lines.
