EVERY week dozens of planning applications are submitted to the local councils, and the coronavirus pandemic has not changed that.

While some council services have been suspended as a result of COVID-19, planning departments are still working as usual to validate and to decide upon applications.Among them are plans for a new Travelodge hotel in Newton Abbot with the aim of it being open for business in 2021.The Halcyon Road 115 space car park in Newton Abbot is set to be turned into a 72-bedroom hotel with a restaurant as part of redevelopment plans for the town centre.
