A CHARITY has been given the all-clear to pursue expansion plans in the heart of Dartmoor.
East Shallowford Farm Trust, which has been operating on the edge of Widecombe-in-the-Moor for the last 40 years, has secured planning permission to transform its residential accommodation to cater for disadvantaged youngsters from London.
But the scheme – at a site which dates back to the 13th century – has not gone down too well with locals. Some 20 letters of objection were lodged with the national park authority which gave its consent last Friday. Ten letters of support were submitted.
