TEIGNBRIDGE Cllr Jackie Brodie has urged residents to have their say on a planning application for 135 houses on the edge of Newton Abbot.

The Liberal Democrat spokeswoman for Bradley and Bushell has drawn attention to the plans submitted to Teignbridge District Council on her website.

She said: ‘An application for 135 houses has been submitted on land at Berry Knowles on the edge of Newton Abbot, beyond the Vauxhall Garage, on the Bovey Tracey Road.

‘The land, which is owned by Sibelco, is outside the local plan allocations for housing and as such is a departure from the local plan and will be considered at a future planning committee meeting.’

Mr Stringer from Cheshire submitted the plans on October 3. The public has until Friday to respond.

The proposal is an outline application for a residential development of up to 135 dwellings on land at Berry Knowles, Bovey Road.

Access to properties would be from Old Exeter Road, and the planning application includes public open space, landscaping and associated works and infrastructure.
