POLICE are appealing for witnesses after a hit and run car accident in Kingsteignton.

Details about the vehicle involved are vague but the car is reported to have collided with another vehicle, then reversed back and driven off from the scene.

The incident happened about 9am in Football Lane.

The other car involved, thought to be pastel blue or green and described as small, came out of the junction with Exeter Road.

A report to police said the collision sent one car into the hedge causing serious damage.

That driver, a woman, got out to see if the other driver was OK. At that point, the second vehicle reversed and drove away.

The registration number is believed to begin with a W and contains the number 5 and letter Z in it.

It is believed the vehicle would have had damage to the front.
