POLICE are trying to trace a coach they believe was involved in a car accident on Thursday last week.

The driver and passenger, both female, of a silver Subaru were injured, one seriously, after their vehicle hit the verge and went into a hedge on the B3192 between Ashcombe and Teignmouth Golf Club at 4.35pm.

The road was closed for three-and-half-hours while the emergency services dealt with the accident and recovered the vehicle. The driver was taken by air ambulance to the Royal Devon and Exeter Hospital with a leg injury. The passenger was taken by ambulance to Torbay Hospital with chest and stomach injuries. Their details have not been released by police.

A police spokesman said: 'It looks as though there was another vehicle involved – a coach travelling towards Ashcombe from Dawlish.'
