POLICE have confirmed they have referred the force to their conduct authority watchdog over their investigation of the case of the two deaths at Holcombe.

This follows the discovery of the bodies of a couple in their early 30s in their flat at St George’s Lane on the Lyme View Cavanna Homes estate in Holcombe.

Floral tributes and loving messages have been left outside the home and the family of Aleasha Sullivan have set up a Gofundme page in tribute to her.

By today lunchtime (Friday), ‘Aleasha’s Final Goodbye’ gofundme page had received £1,140 from family, friends and loved ones.

One resident told the Mid-Devon Advertiser: ‘We are all surprised that something like this could happen in Holcombe.’

Another added: ‘We saw all the police activity but no-one was actually able to tell us what was going on at the time.’

A police spokesperson told the Mid-Devon Advertiser: ‘I can confirm that Devon and Cornwall Police has made a mandatory referral to the Independent Office for Police Conduct [IOPC] in relation to the incident.

‘The deaths are still being treated as unexplained so we cannot comment further.’
