Areas of Dartmoor are being searched today after a 14-year-old girl went missing from her home on the edge of the national park.

Police are appealing for the public’s help in tracing Abigail Moseley (pictured) who disappeared from the Ivybridge area late last night.

Officers say they are ‘extremely concerned’ for the welfare of the teenager who was last seen at her home just before 11pm yesterday.

A spokesman said: ‘We are conducting local searches around the Ivybridge and South Hams areas - and on nearby Dartmoor.’

Members of the public are being urged to look out for Abigail and to immediately report any sightings to police via 999.

Abigail is described as around 5ft 5ins tall, of slim build with shoulder-length brown hair. She may be wearing a blue/turquoise jacket with a hood and carrying a blue rucksack.

Anyone who sees Abigail or knows of her whereabouts is asked to contact police, quoting log number 107 of March 3.
