POLICE have carted off a moped in Newton Abbot after it was found to have the wrong number plate.

In their latest clampdown on nuisance riders the Newton Abbot Police Station Facebook page says: ‘Have you have recently purchased a moped and wondered why it's not where you parked it?

'It's because we seized it after you put a different number plate on.

‘If you would like to let us know why you did this then please give us a call.'
