CHUDLEIGH Police Station is to be sold and officers are transferring to rooms in the town hall.
The move follows assessments of property options across the board by the Devon and Cornwall Constabulary's Estates Department aimed at saving money, but at the same time creating better use of resources.
Insp Chris Shaw, head of the Teignmouth, Dawlish, Exminster and Chudleigh Division, said it offered the opportunity to save on premises and put the investment into people.
The police will be paying £7,545 annually for a long term lease to use the council chamber and two other rooms in the town hall, which was agreed by Monday's town council meeting.
