A ‘BULLIED’ Conservative Party member has carried out her threat to quit Teignbridge Council, it can be revealed.
Disenchanted Amanda Ford fired off an email telling Teignbridge leader Jeremy Christophers and the authority’s top dog Phil Shears that she was resigning immediately.
News of her departure comes only weeks after she’d had a string of run-ins with senior officers which left her feeling bullied.
She told this newspaper last month that she was being gunned for by staff at the council’s Newton Abbot HQ because she dared to challenge the conduct of officials.
The Teign Valley member resigned as vice-chairman of the overview and scrutiny group earlier in the year over alleged ‘nasty friction’ she encountered trying to sort out an enforcement issue.
Her departure leaves the Conservative Party in turmoil with its majority on Teignbridge falling to just one.
