TORY councillor Ron Peart has had a very successful day today, bagging himself a seat at Devon County Council and Teignbridge District Council. Mr Peart, who previously stood at the county elections as an Independent, now has a place at the table on Kingsteignton town , district and county councils. After being announced as the winner Ron said: ‘I am shocked. ‘It has been an experience and we have all worked hard. ‘People can count on me to be the voice of Kingsteignton and the Teign Estuary. ‘I will do my best to represent residents and I am always available to them.’ A Teignbridge Council by-election was also held today to find a replacement for Mike Walters who stood down earlier this year. The seat Mr Peart now has at County Hall was previously occupied by Tony Dempster, who stood as a UKIP member at the last election. In Kingsteignton and the Teign Estuary 32 per cent of the electorate came out and voted.
