A TRIO of Liberal Democrats have been elected to serve residents in Dawlish East after stealing seats from the Conservatives.

Martin Wrigley, who is already on Teignbridge, came out victorious with 1,406 votes along with Lin Goodman-Bradbury on 982 and Linda Petherick with 1,173.

Tory Lisa Mayne, who previously held the job, was defeated and the other seat belonged to Ted Hockin – who didn’t stand this time.

Cllr Wrigley said the Lib Dem sweep was ‘fantastic’ and vowed to continue working hard for residents.

He reckoned the move showed that residents were fed-up with the current failing Conservative administration.

First time councillor Lin Goodman-Bradbury admitted she was ‘absolutely ecstatic.’
