PRIME Minister Theresa May has been blamed for the demise of Tory councillors in Dawlish South West ward.

Two Liberal Democrat candidates stole seats from Conservatives Ros Prowse and Humphrey Clemens.

John Petherick and Gary Taylor, who got 722 and 702 votes respectively, came out victorious.

Out-going deputy leader Humphrey Clemens, who has been a member for 21 years, said it was ‘Mrs F-ing May’s’ fault that that he’d lost.

He explained: ‘I saw it coming really as we have the worst prime minster in history as she has betrayed the country and the Conservative.’

He said he was looking forward to getting on with his life and supporting Nigel Farage’s Brexit Party in looming EU elections.

Dismayed Ros Prowse simply said she was just going to ‘get on with life.’

Liberal Democrats now have full control in Dawlish.
