BOVEY Tracey’s current trio of councillors – two Tories and one Lib Dem – have kept their seats for another four years.

Conservatives George Gribble and Avril Kerswell, along with Liberal Democrat Sally Morgan, were voted back into office.

Cllr Gribble picked up 1,032 votes, Cllr Kerswell earned 1,070 and Cllr Morgan bagged 1,083.

Former deputy council leader Cllr Gribble said he was feeling ‘ticketty-boo’ after hearing he’d won the contest.

He added: ‘I am very grateful to everyone who voted for me. I am also disappointed that Jeremy Christophers has lost his seat as he did a great job as leader.’

Cllr Kerswell, who was the district authority’s chairman, explained: ‘I am absolutely delighted to be able to serve for another four years.’

She said it was ‘terrible’ that Cllr Christophers and deputy leader Cllr Humphrey Clemens had lost their seats.
