A TOTAL of 82,377 Teignbridge residents came out in force today to vote in the EU referendum, which equates to a 79.4 per cent turn out. The national turnout averages at 69%.

The number of postal votes issued was a record for Teignbridge with nearly 21,000 sent out resulting in a 92% turnout for those who planned ahead.

Counting is underway at Newton Abbot Racecourse with an expected time for a result at around 4.30am today.
