SWIMMERS were queuing for two hours before the opening of Kingsteignton's Community Pool at the weekend.

The event marked the facility's 35th anniversary and performing the honours was Maureen Cole, president of the Kingsteignton Swimming Pool Association.

Mrs Cole, introduced by vice- chairman Fleur Lee, thanked residents for their continued support and members of the committee for their hard work during the year.

In total some 80 people enjoyed the pool's heated waters while another 30 sat and enjoyed the atmosphere.
