THE unique social care service delivered across Devon and Cornwall by Shared Lives South West, has won it huge praise and a prestigious care award.

Based in Kingsteignton, the regional charity took the coveted Putting People First category at the gala Great South West Care Awards presentation ceremony in Bristol, on Friday.

Judges praised the charity, saying: 'Shared Lives has turned the philosophy of care on its head. A simple yet innovative concept that enables people to support vulnerable adults to live in the community. An inspirational team!'
