PUPILS, parents and staff at a Newton Abbot primary school are celebrating after Ofsted inspectors gave it a Good rating in all areas.

Inspectors said at All Saints Marsh CofE primary pupils are ‘happy and eager’ to go to school and relationships between staff and pupils are ‘positive’.

The report also commented on the school’s ‘ambitious’ curriculum and high expectations for pupils’ achievement.

The learning environment was described in their report as a place of calm where learning is rarely disturbed.

The school has recently entered into a close partnership with Dunsford Community Academy, which is also part of Learning Academy Partnership and Liam O’Sullivan the headteacher is overseeing both schools.

He said: ‘I am incredibly proud of our pupils, staff, and the whole school community.

‘This Ofsted report is a reflection of their hard work, dedication, and the positive culture we have built together.

'I am particularly delighted that inspectors highlighted our pupils’ enthusiasm for learning and the impact of our ‘All Aboard’ programme in supporting resilience and self-awareness.

‘This report is a testament to what we can achieve when we work together to provide a nurturing, inclusive, and ambitious learning environment for every child.’

The school’s effective early reading programme was singled out for praise with inspectors stating that the school provides the necessary support to any pupil who needs extra help to read successfully and that most pupils are confident and fluent readers by the time they reach Year 6.

The Ofsted report also said the school has strengthened its support for pupils with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND).

It accurately identifies pupils’ needs and typically makes suitable adaptations to the curriculum delivery. This builds pupils’ independence and enables them to learn alongside their peers.

Pupils want to come to school to spend time with their friends in the playground and in the classroom.
