LUCKY Michael Huxtable from Ogwell has won a brand new Alfa Romeo Spider worth £30,000 in an AA prize draw.

'I thought it was a wind-up like one of those "come and stay at a time share" things. I don't actually remember entering the competition. It's taken a couple of weeks to sink in,' he said.

The 40-year-old architectural technician from Meadow Holt, had a go at the AA Car Insurance prize draw while messing about on the computer during the summer. His name was picked out from 2,456 entrants along with another winner in Birmingham.

Mr Huxtable said that he would definitely be keeping the 2.4 diesel two-seater convertible and was trying to sell his old BMW coupé.

'I've never had a new car before. The insurance is going to be cheaper and the running costs too.'

On Wednesday AA patrolman Guy Coaton from Torquay presented the keys to an impatient Mr Huxtable, who said he couldn't wait to take his new car for a spin.
