Problem with parties in park

Cllr Sandra Heath is concened about the lack of maintenance and the outdated equipment in two parks in the village.

There is another side to the story, however. Kingsleigh gets little use by younger childen – however, it is used by drunken and partying teenagers until the early hours of the morning.

The much smaller park at the top of Priscott Way estate has been the target of vandals for the past three years.

This park again is well-known for late-night drinkers and parties, and often broken bottles and used syringes are to be found around the park.

Older teenagers have taken it upon themsevles to ban younger ones from playing in the park.

This park, in particular, should be closed down from further use and no further tax payers' money should be wasted on it.

The parks in question are the responsibility of Teignbridge Council and should remain that way. Kingsteignton Parish Council should not even consider taking on the responsibility of looking after these parks.
