Chudleigh's new weekly produce market is set to get the town buzzing on a Thursday, writes Stephen Taylor.
Around 20 stalls got the venture off to a successful start last week – at least four said they sold out by noon – and it is hoped that the market will prove an irresistible draw for locally-grown produce.
It is also hoped that the market – using a 'shoestring' budget to get off the ground – will prove a true community effort. Ultimately, any profits will be pumped back into the town for everyone's benefit, and at least two stalls will be earmarked for community use.<
