A reward of up to £1,000 has been offered to anyone who can reveal the identity of the culprits responsible for the theft of livestock from Dartmoor. Last year, more than 200 ewes and lambs were removed from the moor and, despite extensive inquiries, the police have been unable to track down those responsible. Now the Forest of Dartmoor Commoners Association has put up the £1,000 reward, which will be paid at its discretion and following the successful conviction of those responsible. 'Please help us to keep our stock out on Dartmoor, continuing to carry out an environmental service by grazing, and enabling you and us to enjoy our moor in perpetuity,' said David Evans, of the association. Anyone with relevant information can call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111, the police on 08452 777444, or Mr Evans on 01822 820515.
