Teignbridge Council's chief executive Nicola Bulbeck is to be paid £130,000 a year to act in a joint role with Torridge.

The authority's highest-paid officer was paid £101,448 in her Teignbridge role.

The authority has pointed out that Ms Bulbeck's new pay package 'is for an employee taking on a completely new job'.

And it stresses that both it and Torridge will be paying less for a chief executive than they have previously. Teignbridge will be paying £62,500, Torridge £67,500.
