PUPILS at Bearnes Voluntary Primary, Newton Abbot, have been gettingused to a transformed school bilding
Internally the main school building, which dates back to 1859, has been remodelled as part of a £50,000 radical refurbishment of the school to create a new effective learning and working space for children and staff.
The transformation includes a new office and reception area, providing a welcome point for parents and visitors at the front of the building. A central corridor has been added creating new internal circulation space minimising disruption within classrooms and the addition of a new ICT suite.
Extensive improvements have also been carried out to the front outdoor play space creating a safe and pleasant area for parents to congregate away from busy Queen Street at the end of the school day.
