'Endless enthusiasm and energy' by Ipplepen residents has delivered children at the village primary school a £6,000 gift of year-round fun and games.

Until now the youngsters could only look longingly at the playground climbing equipment when the weather was less than perfect as the grass underneath would become muddy and unusable.

But now a new play surface has made all the difference, meaning the equipment can be used every day.

'The PTA have worked so hard over the last two years to raise the funds for this project with endless enthusiasm and energy,' said former chairman and staff member Tracey Ireland.
