MORE than £700 was raised last month when a brave few from Newton Abbot Community Transport Association jumped on bikes and pedalled for 25 hours.

The static bikes, set up in the heart of Newton Abbot, saw many people come and have a go including the town’s deputy mayor Ann Jones and town crier Ken Purchase.

A total of £734 was raised through sponsorship, collection buckets and gift aid.

The money will go towards the continuous fundraising by the association which keeps it running.
