LOTTERY funders have splashed the cash – all £75,000 of it – to keep Buckfastleigh's outdoor pool in the swim.

Sport England this week threw a cash lifeline to the action group set up to save the ageing and leaking pool built in the late 1880s.

Ripples of delight spread across the town when confirmation of the funding came through.<
