The landlord of the King of Prussia Pub, Bovey Tracey, is angered that his pub has been hit and damaged by double decker buses twice in less than two months. A double decker first hit scaffolding at the side of Andy Paddon's pub and brought poles crashing down on cars in a nearby garage around six weeks ago. Then a bus scraped along the front of the pub on Wednesday morning. 'The roads in Bovey Tracey are too narrow for these buses to use,' said Mr Paddon. 'It hit just underneath my stepson's window and there was a bang. I ran out, but the bus just drove off. I now have bit of the bus' paintwork left on my building. Next time it could be more serious.' Mr Paddon has contacted Stagecoach, which runs the bus service, and has been told to take photographs and send them to the bus company. 'I don't see why I should take time to write to them and take photographs of the damage. Stagecoach should send someone out and assess the damage. They just don't seem to care,' said Mr Paddon. 'I have to say, I have never seen a double decker full going through the town, so really they could use smaller buses. 'I'll be talking to the town council to see what can be done.' Terry Westwood, Bovey Tracey Town Council clerk, said: 'I will be speaking to the chief executive of Stagecoach as we have noticed an increase in double decker buses in the town. There have been a number of incidents in the town involving double decker buses – I know that the old Conservative Club has also been hit twice. Mark Whittle, customer services manager for Stagecoach said: 'We will be investigating this and, like any incident, the driver involved will be interviewed. 'Drivers do know they should take due care negotiating difficult roads. 'We use these large capacity vehicles to cope with the amount of customers we have. We would ask the owner of the property to contact us in writing.' Stuart Goodman, landlord of the Traceys, the former Conservative Club, said the premises had been hit three times, damaging the architecture. 'We could do without all this damage and we will be putting in a claim,' Mr Goodman told the Advertiser.
