ANXIOUS residents of Buckfastleigh face a tense few weeks as they await the outcome of the planning inquiry into the waste processing and recycling facility at Whitecleave Quarry.

Government planning inspector John Woolcock is expected to announce his decision before September 1.

Hundreds of people attended the four-week inquiry which ended on Friday with all three parties summing up their arguments – appellant MVV and scheme opponents Devon County Council and Buckfastleigh Community Forum, whose legal fight was financed by the townspeople.
