TEIGNBRIDGE Council has apologised for wrongly advertising a conservation area appraisal and review presentation to Newton Abbot Town Council Planning Committee on Tuesday as a public meeting.

A district authority spokesman said on Wednesday that there were no excuses.

'It was a genuine misunderstanding on our part which unfortunately led to the wrong information being given in good faith.

'To help put things right we have organised a public meeting on Friday, January 22, in the council chamber at Forde House at 2pm, and would very much welcome local people's valued input on the conservation area proposals,' he said.
