TEIGNMOUTH Community School students raised £1,500 for Children in Need – and they are still counting.

The cash came rolling in from a Year 10 cafe selling rolls, cakes and drinks; a Year 7 penny party, using the coins to cover a big picture of Pudsey, and Year 13 drama students organising a game show.

Pupils also sold keyrings and magnets they made, and the IT staff dressed as soldiers in camouflage kit; the canteen staff came to work in their pyjamas, and the student office staff donned their versions of school uniform.

The Mill Lane (former Inverteign School) junior part of the academy organised stalls and games, along with face painting, a cake stand, pin ear on Pudsey, a Pudsey colouring competition, guessing the number of sweets in a jar, and naming the bear contests.

The children went to school in spotty and dotty outfits.
